What We Left Behind is a collaboration between a daughter and her 84 year old father to pass along over 100 years of family history.
The items pictured on these pages are some of the "collectibles" we've uncovered as we make our way through about one thousand square feet of stuff. Items range in origin from the late 1800's to the 1970s. Some things came over on the boat with his parents from England, some were collected during WWI, The Great Depression and WWII, others just from the everyday life of a family spanning ten decades.
We've also uncovered hundreds of letters and postcards that my great-grandparents and grandparents received dating from 1900 to 1984. Their uplifting and heartbreaking glimpse into lives spanning over 80 years will also be shared here.
